Charanda Meyers was never one to refuse a dare.
Charanda Meyers celebrates her victory of passing her exams at the space academy and becoming a licensed pilot. Out at a bar celebrating with her two best friends, Susan and Peter, they test her with the ultimate dare.
Never in Charanda’s wildest dreams had she imagined that her first solo flight would become such an adventure—an escapade that would cost her dearly.
Neither had she counted on an unexpected passenger—one who tried to capture her heart. But she has other plans than committing to a relationship.
She set the coordinates to return to Earth, planning to try and land in a remote area and take the risk of getting shot down. Hopefully, she’d survive and change into a bird or something to escape immediate capture. She would fly back to the academy to face the consequences of her stupidity, if there were any. Because they wouldn’t find her on the ship so couldn’t really prove that she was the one who had taken it.
But then the computer shocked the hell out of her.
“Navigation system malfunction.”
“Repair!” Charanda shouted.
“Unable to repair at this time.”
“Repair!” she shouted again, only to keep receiving negative answers from the computer.
Two hours later, the computer finally announced it had managed to repair navigation, but when she attempted to set the coordinates for Earth, it wouldn’t let her for some odd reason.
She tried a verbal command. “Computer, set a course for Earth.”
“Unable to comply. Unknown destination.”
Desperately, she tried to manually set the course again and failed. Something was still wrong with the navigation system.
She was lost in space, just like the classic TV series. Except she had no supplies, no clothing, no clue where she was exactly, and probably no food—and a ship that was malfunctioning.
That’s when her adventures began. Charanda Meyers became a wanted criminal on Earth, and Daring Char was hunted throughout two galaxies because of the price on her head.
Dead or alive.
Now, here she was, all these years later, caught because she had landed on her grandfather’s property and he had reported an alien invasion. Of course, he would think that because she had traded the small Falcon on the first planet she’d visited for a much larger ship that she had named Dashing Comet.
Soon as she had laid eyes on her grandfather, she knew from the expression on his face that he regretted reporting an alien craft, but it was too late for regrets.
Just like it had been too late for her to shift when she opened the hatch, eager to see her grandfather. She set foot on the steps, only to be greeted by the authorities and handcuffed. As soon as they had cuffed her, she saw them take her grandfather. Her heart had bled when they slapped handcuffs on his wrists. What was supposed to be a brief visit with her grandfather for a week or so had turned into a drama, a nightmare.
And once again, she made news headlines.
Spaceship thief caught!
Charanda Meyers behind bars.
The spaceship thief returns to Earth!
Charanda Meyers returns to Earth in alien craft!
From what the useless lawyer had told her, the newspapers and tabloids had a field day. Her capture had spread all over TV, the news, talk-shows, and of course, the internet. Social media buzzed for days, weeks.
