Thanks to a meteor shower, they had to land on the closest planet…

Captain Keller and her crew would not be home in time for Christmas… Their ship was badly damaged by a meteor shower, and they had to set down on the closest planet to effect repairs. What they found there blew their minds.

Captain Octavia Keller—Tavia to anyone who knew her—looked at her three shipmates and continued their depressing conversation. “I’m so sorry. You know we’re not going to make it home in time for Christmas, gang.”

Her science officer, Mark Hunter, nodded. “There’s no way we can keep going. We need to set down on the nearest planet to effect some necessary repairs. That will take more than a few days, and then we limp home.”

“Enzyria is the closest,” Sherry, her copilot, stated. “At our present speed, it’s just under twelve hours away but so far, unexplored territory. Who knows what we’ll find there or if it’s populated. And if so, are they friendly? With most of our instruments down, it’s risky.”

“We don’t have much of a choice,” Doug, the engineer, grumbled.
