Threesomes are so tempting…but can they last?

Summer looks full of promise for swingers Jen and Brett Andrews—ever since Sarah Creston’s arrival, three-way possibilities for mind-shattering sex seem endless. Secretly, Jen’s a little pleased their best friends Donna and Ryan Powers still aren’t speaking. This way, Jen doesn’t have to share.

Thrilled with her new lifestyle, Sarah makes up for lost time and wants to taste everything—but even she can feel the rift. Ever classy, Sarah resolves to do what’s right and reach out to Donna, no matter the risk. Can she prevent the train wreck, or will Jen and Donna derail her efforts? And if she succeeds, would some three-way makeup sex with the two women be too much to hope for?

“Why the hell can’t people be straight up with us?” Jen scrolled farther down the recent messages on their internet swing site. “If they don’t want to continue fucking us, just say so. And what the hell did we do wrong to send them packing?”

“Who now?” Brett asked, stepping up behind her to peer at the screen.

She twisted around to stare at him and shook her head. “Vanessa and Carson—but I don’t know for sure. They haven’t responded to the email I sent them a couple weeks ago. It was just a staying-in-touch note. And I haven’t been back on the site for a while.”

Brett nodded. “You’ve been rather preoccupied with our houseguest.”

Jen felt her cheeks warm. “Until I watched Sarah with Carl and Alice last night, I didn’t believe she’d really want to be part of our swinging community.”

Brett chuckled. “And now you’re a believer. Guess she did prove she’s more than willing to partake. So now you’re getting in touch with old friends and screening new contacts with Sarah in mind.”

“Something like that. I think we want to take it slow with Sarah. She could be overwhelmed by a club, but maybe a small party fairly soon would help us all.” Jen gave her husband a small smile. “I’d forgotten how much I enjoy playing with others.”

“Ah, you do play well with others. And it looks like we’re not going to be able to keep Sarah to ourselves anyway.”

Jen smiled. Fantasies of keeping Sarah to themselves would’ve only led to bigger problems. She still wanted them to be an ongoing threesome, but after seeing Sarah with Carl and Alice she couldn’t hold onto their houseguest like she was their private pet. “She’s going to want more. We both know that now. I don’t know where it will wind up for the three of us, but I do know we can’t keep her from the pleasure she experienced last night—her first real taste of swinging.”

Jen glanced back at the screen of messages. “I’m just going to do my best to make sure her initial experiences are positive.”

Brett placed a hand on her shoulder and squeezed. “Like a good friend should. So what about Carson and Vanessa? Maybe they’re on vacation.”

“I doubt it. They weren’t planning a trip until late summer.”

“Didn’t Alice say they were quite concerned about the rift between you and Donna?”

Jen groaned and felt her shoulder sag. “She said something like that.”

“Sounded to me like they didn’t want to get caught in the middle—though I know Vanessa loves being in the middle.”

“Stop it,” Jen snapped, pulling away from Brett.

“You may not like hearing it, but this spat with Donna has gone on long enough, and it’s beginning to impact more people than us. I can understand why Vanessa and Carson don’t want to choose sides. Even Carl and Alice had to deal with Donna’s ire because they wouldn’t give up being with us.”

“I know. But that’s still shitty. Why do people just fade away? They could at least tell us directly what the problem is. Remember the very first couple we played with in Indianapolis? They were so much fun. We were going to be fast friends and fuck buddies forever. We even joked about someday moving closer.”

“I remember. They were fun. But maybe they really weren’t looking for more than a onetime event.”

“Then why couldn’t they say so? Why lead us on?” Jen scrolled farther down their messages. “I just don’t get it. Then there was the couple from Bloomington that we met at the Chicago club. We played with them what, four or five times?”

“Four times, counting the first time at the club.”

“Okay, four, but we haven’t heard from them for months. I even called. Kathy was busy and said she’d call us back to set something up. Never heard from her.”

“Maybe they were bored.”

“They could’ve said something.” Jen absently drummed her fingernails on the desk. “It does seem like novelty is a big part of this adventure. It’s really tough to maintain long term friendships.”

“Friendships with benefits. And novelty is part of the attraction for us, too. We both get an extra charge from making plans to meet a new couple. Maybe part of it’s the chase.”

“Or thinking that each new couple might really be the right fit, the right balance between having lots of common interests and being fantastic between the sheets.”

“Exactly. But we know by now we can’t count on anything lasting. Carl and Alice seem to be the exception. And of course Donna and Ryan are different. We’ve known them forever.”

Jen hugged herself. “We’ve got to do something about them. We can’t let this divide get wider. I don’t want to lose them, too.”

“We won’t. We’ve shared so much with them over the years.”

Jen relaxed a little as her husband’s fingers worked over her shoulder muscles.

“So do we have any new possibilities among all those new messages you’ve been screening?”
