Jocelyn Fryer

A dreamy and hopeless fool, I once set my mind to a masters in English Literature... Hiding a little, but I learnt a lot. But Rapunzel no more. And these days I guess, Ivory Towers all but forgotten, this wayward lass is finally trying to find the words to bring to light the causes close to her heart. And from the heart.

It is so far an eclectic collection of writing it can be said, from reframing conversations around mental health matters, being diagnosed and hospitalised at the age of 29 with bipolar disorder, to rescuing forgotten folklore and female heroines of literary days gone by, her curiosities and interests are vast. But always, I fervently believe, investing in stories that need telling, stories that need some hope.

I have self published a debut novella, written extensively on my blog, on both bipolar and women’s issues, had my work on bipolar published on multiple platforms at home and abroad while also being featured in academic journals, online wellness sites, and just recently shortlisted in a prestigious short story publication.

Warmest regards
Jocelyn Fryer
