Vampires are supposed to like human blood so why would they want the blood of certain women over any others?

One street smart, foul mouth little girl has ducked those that were after her blood until she found one she didn’t want to run from.     

For Mikka life had been one hard lesson after another. She had been on the streets since she was ten, avoiding the authorities and Family Services when one man within the system liked little girls too much. She had learned one lesson over and over, don’t trust anyone. How could she trust the young man who claimed he could save her, especially when she found out he was a vampire.
