Kendal is an ordinary guy in his mid thirties. All he thought he’d ever want was an ordinary life. He had that with Charlie, his live in lover of seven years. Then suddenly Charlie announces that he’s leaving Kendal for a “fantasy man.” At first, Kendal is distraught that Charlie would throw away seven years on a Twink; then, he gets angry. He decides to track down the guy who stole his Charlie and give him a piece of his mind. Aaron Radcliff is “the other man,” but not in the way Kendal expects. A hunky fireman who can have any man he chooses, is about to surprise the hell out of Kendal. The Other Man is an unexpected love story about our preconceptions, and doesn’t play by the rules.

Kendal hung up without leaving a message. He was falling asleep in front of the television when the phone rang. “Charlie?” He peered at the time on the television, searching for his new glasses on the sofa.

“It’s Aaron, sorry.”

“Aaron?”

“I have call display. You didn’t leave a message.”

“Oh, yeah. Sorry. I didn’t know what to say. Look, I spoke with Charlie.”

“And?”

“I’m sorry. I’m really sorry. We had a communication breakdown. Charlie had a crush on you, that’s all. He’s never really spoken to you.” He laughed slightly. “Says you’re a snob.”

“I see.”

“Aaron, are you angry?”

“No. So, you’ve forgiven him then?”

“Not entirely. Technically, he didn’t have an affair, but we have some problems in our relationship. We’re going to take it slow. I’m not taking him back just yet.”

“Going to make him sweat.”

“Something like that.”

“Guess that means you still love him?”

“Well, seven years.”

“That wasn’t my question.”

“I suppose so.”

“Okay then, well…good luck with it.”

“Aaron?”

“Yep?”

“I’d like to do something to make it up to you.”

There was silence, then, suddenly, he said, “What do you have in mind, Kendal?” The voice was silky smooth, seductive. It sent a tiny shiver down his spine. Oh, what could it hurt to flirt a little? He’d never had the chance to flirt with someone like Aaron Radcliff, and it was harmless, over the phone. No danger there.

He laughed a little. “You’re not being a naughty boy, are you, Aaron?” He sucked in some breath.

“Not yet.”

Kendal smiled. “What exactly does that mean?”

“It means that you haven’t given me that opportunity.”

“Little hard on the phone.”

“What’s a little hard?”

“Maybe I’m a little hard. I saw your picture in my friend’s calendar.”

“Did you?” God, he had a sexy voice.

“Yes. You have a nice chest. Ever thought about posing nude?”

He laughed.

“Would you?”

“Depends.”

“Depends on what?”

“Who was taking the pictures. Do you have a good camera?”

“You wouldn’t pose nude for me.” Kendal was blushing, and he was all alone in his living room.

“How do you know?”

“I’m not your type.”

“How do you know that?”

“Come on, Aaron. You’re teasing me.”

“I think you’re the one teasing me. Why don’t you let me come by your place tonight, and I’ll tell you how you can make it up to me?”

“Whoa, whoa, cowboy.” Kendal laughed. “If you actually showed up at my doorstep, you’d have to carry through on your promise.”

“What’s your address?”

Shocked, Kendal swallowed.

“What’s your address?”

A one night stand. A one night stand with the most gorgeous hunk he’d ever laid eyes on. Did he dare? Did he dare let go one time in his life? How many opportunities would he have to make love to someone like Aaron?

“You still there?”

“Yeah.”

“You chicken? You don’t believe I’ll show up?”

“But why? Why do you want to…?”

“Could it be that I want to be with you?” His voice was soft suddenly. “Could it be that I like you, find you attractive, fantasize about making love to you?”

Kendal swallowed. “It would just be for tonight because…well, it would just be sex, right?”

“It can be anything you want it to be.”

Kendal took a big breath. “Okay,” he said. “Got a pen?”
