Timon Kirkan studied the woman he held in his arms. She was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. Flaming red hair, shot through with strands of the purest silver made her light complexion glow. Even the curve of her jaw was perfect. He almost groaned when she wriggled, trying to pull free. Her ass moved over his cock, awakening the poor appendage from its prior oblivious slumber.

He met Nicolao Pritton’s gaze over her head, surprised to see that he, too, was affected by her presence. Was she a mate for both of them? He’d never thought to have a mate and, if he ever had, he certainly never thought he’d be in a triad relationship with Nicolao. They’d never gotten along as children. They’d often brawled over their playthings, so he knew they were sure to fight over a woman. Leaning down, he inhaled her scent. It nearly intoxicated him. His entire body hardened with need—with a desire he was certain could be caused only by finding his mate. He’d heard the stories—they all had.

Let her go. Nicolao glared at him, his fingers wrapped around her wrists in an unbreakable grasp. There was no way he could wrench her away without pulling her arms from her sockets.

I will not. She is my mate.

Nicolao threw back his head and laughed before looking at him with death in his eyes. “She is not your mate, you puny beetle. She is my mate. She is too good for the likes of you.”

“Ha!” The woman pulled and pushed her way from each of their grasps. “I belong to myself, you big goons.” She gave them both a derisive look before continuing. “I belong to myself and no other. You two would do well to remember that. Besides, I am Amazonian warrior. I take no mate unless I desire.” She walked several steps from them before turning to give them an appraising glance, one eyebrow raised nearly to her hairline. “And I certainly don’t desire either of you two cretins.” She pointed toward the elevator. “You may as well find your way outside and hang from the trees as you beat on your chests. It may impress someone, but it definitely won’t impress me.” She tossed her head, turned and left them alone with their mouths agape.
